LESLIE SCHWERIN worked as a staff producer for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TELEVISION for seven years. There she received Emmy nominations, Cine Gold Eagles, The Worldfest Platinum Prize, as well as top awards at film festivals. Her film “Dog Genius” won Best Animal Behavior Award at the International Wildlife Film Festival, which she attributes to her dog Ollie’s cameo.

As an independent filmmaker she's been awarded numerous grants, including four from state humanities foundations. Between the cracks of her paid work she writes short stories, poetry and screenplays.
